A truly delicate and emotional introspective journey, ‘GAME OVER’ is the second single off L I M’s debut EP ‘Comet‘ (La Tempesta, 2016). It’s a dark yet enlighting surrendering to the end of a relationship; it’s seeing and dancing in the dark, with the ghost of a failed love haunting dreams in a space between reality and revelation. The track floates between liquid mid-tempo R&B and vapor disco, mixing Detroit’s ambient classic elements and textures while planting its roots in Aphex Twin’s “Ambient Works” misty memories.
Premiered via Disco Naïveté, the song comes alongside an official video, directed by Giorgio Calace and Karol Sudolski. Speaking on the video, Sudolski stated: “Game Over is an intimate journey, an emotional climax halfway between a dream and nightmare, reality and illusion. We give ourselves over to the most perverse and personal memories, to hopes and expectations, as if we were at the mercy of currents which drag us down into an abstract, claustrophobic word, in which almost feels good to plunge. The video talks about this, a moment of physical and emotional closure, where the walls of intimate and once-shared environments witness our solitude before our memories and remorses. These walls dissolve into an alien environment, in which we try to reach the ghost of something that’s no longer alive.”
L I M is the solo project of musician, singer and former half of Iori’s Eyes Sofia Gallotti. Started in early 2014 in Edinburgh together with producer and now long-time collaborator RIVA as the tale of an ending love story, L I M found new life in Milan, where the project took its actual shape, combining evocative spaces with existentialist and dreamy atmospheres. The work of the duo eventually led to the release of L I M’s debut EP ‘Comet’ (La Tempesta, 2016), which has been widely praised in her home country by music professionals and critics.
With new music coming in 2017, L I M is ready to get the recognition she deserves with no more boundaries to limit her growth.
